Its urine acidifying properties and its low level of magnesium make it suitable for dissolving struvite stones and reducing their recurrence. Dissolves crystals: Effectively dissolves particular urinary stones called struvites. Low RSS: Helps lower the concentration of ions contributing to crystal formation. Urine dilution: Helps to prevent urinary crystals. Low Magnesium: This diet is low in magnesium - a component of struvite urinary crystals. Recommended for (indications): Struvite uroliths: dissolution and management of recurrence, Calcium oxalate uroliths: management of recurrence. Feeding Guide Feed Urinary S/O for 5 to 12 weeks for the dissolution of struvite stones Feed for up to 6 months for the reduction of struvite stone recurrence.
